Questions about job matches
How is the fit score calculated?
For each opening, the AI reads the posting and labels its requirements — separating the must-haves from the nice-to-haves — and marks each one as met, partially met, or missing. The score is then computed in code from those labels: a missing must-have caps the score low, meeting every must-have puts you in the strong range, and the nice-to-haves plus any partial matches nudge it up or down from there. Because the model only labels requirements and never sets the number, the score is deterministic and hard to game: it reflects the real overlap between the role and your resume, not an AI's opinion.
Where do the job openings come from?
We pull live postings from the job market that match the titles and locations you've set, de-duplicate them, and score them against your profile. Results are cached briefly so repeat searches stay fast without re-scanning the same roles.
How often do matches update, and how many searches do I get?
On the Resume Pass, we search every Friday for your target titles and locations and list the best fits, scored against your resume. On Pro, your first batch arrives automatically once your resume is ready, we re-scan every Friday and email you the strong new matches, and you can run up to 2 searches of your own a week (that counter resets on Monday). The free plan doesn't include job matches.
Will it invent skills to make me look like a better match?
No. Job matching is honest by design: it re-frames and surfaces what's already true on your resume and never fabricates skills, titles, dates or metrics. Because the score is driven by which requirements you can actually evidence, padding your resume with things you can't back up would only show up as gaps later.
