Questions about job matches
How is the match score calculated?
For each opening, the AI reads the posting and lists the requirements you clearly meet against the ones you're missing. The score itself is then computed in code as met ÷ (met + missing) — the model never sets the number. That makes the score deterministic and hard to game: it reflects the real overlap between the role and your resume, not an AI's opinion.
Where do the job openings come from?
We pull live postings from the job market that match the titles and locations you've set, de-duplicate them, and score the freshest ones against your profile. Results are cached briefly so repeat searches stay fast without re-scanning the same roles.
How often do matches update, and how many searches do I get?
On Pro, your first batch is generated automatically once your resume is ready, and you can run up to 2 manual searches a week (the counter resets Monday). Starter gets a one-time teaser of your top 3 matches, and the free plan keeps job matching locked — it unlocks with Pro.
Will it invent skills to make me look like a better match?
No. Job matching is honest by design — it re-frames and surfaces what's already true on your resume and never fabricates skills, titles, dates or metrics. Because the score is met-versus-missing, padding your resume with things you can't back up would only show up as gaps later.
