Zety alternative: a free PDF download and a 7-day refund

Zety is a popular resume builder with ready-made content and many templates. Ruubu starts from a free resume check, lets you download a PDF without paying, and bills a flat monthly price. Here is how the two compare.

Ruubu is our product, so read this with that in mind. Every statement about Zety links to a public source, listed at the end of the page. We are not affiliated with Zety.

Is Ruubu a good Zety alternative?

Yes, if you want to download a finished resume without starting a trial. Ruubu's free plan includes a PDF with a small mark; Zety's free plan downloads TXT only, and its $1.70 14-day trial renews at $23.95 every 4 weeks. Zety's pre-written content and annual plan suit long, template-led projects.

Questions

Can I download my resume for free on Ruubu?
Yes, as a PDF with a small Ruubu mark. The Resume Pass ($7.99/mo) removes the mark and adds an editable DOCX. Zety's free plan downloads TXT only (checked October 2026).
How much does Zety cost after the trial?
On zety.com the trial is $1.70 for 14 days, then $23.95 every 4 weeks until you cancel. The annual plan is $71.40 paid at once. Prices in other countries differ.
Does Ruubu have pre-written resume content like Zety?
Not as a phrase library. Ruubu's AI rewrites your own bullets and summary on the Resume Pass, and 92 resume examples show bullet ideas by role.
Can I get a refund?
Ruubu refunds a first payment in full within 7 days, even after a download. Zety's terms let you request a refund if you cancel before the end of the initial period and otherwise do not guarantee refunds.
