What is an ATS score?

An ATS (applicant tracking system) score estimates how cleanly software can read your resume and how well it covers what recruiters search for. We score yours out of 100 against common ATS parsing and keyword rules, like clear structure, standard headings, relevant keywords and measurable results, so you can fix what's holding you back. It is a check against common rules, not a promise that a particular employer's system will accept your resume.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Paste your resume text or upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT file and get your score without an account. We never sell or share your resume. We keep the text, and any job description you paste, for 7 days so you can open it in the editor; if you don't, it's deleted automatically.

Can I check my resume against a job description?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Paste the job posting under your resume and the result adds a job match: which of the posting's keywords your resume already covers, which are missing, and where to add them. It's a keyword comparison done by rules, not AI, so it's free and gives the same answer every time.

Does the checker look at spelling and grammar?

Accepted Answer

Yes. An AI proofreading pass flags spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency slips, like mixed tenses or date formats, and suggests a correction for each. It never changes names, numbers or dates. It can miss a mistake or flag something you wrote on purpose, so you decide what to apply. Without an account you see the first three; with a free account you see all of them and apply the ones you accept in the editor.

How do I improve my score after the check?

The checklist tells you exactly what passes, what's weak and what's missing. For example, add measurable results, surface target-role keywords, or fix non-standard formatting. You can apply the fixes yourself, or build an ATS-safe resume in the editor that bakes them in.

Does it work for resumes that aren't in English?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The checker detects the language of your resume and scores it in that language. Checks built on English word lists (like spotting "Responsible for") are skipped for other languages and the score is rebalanced, and suggested section headings come in your resume's language. It works for English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Turkish resumes.

Is a CV the same as a resume?

In the US and Canada a resume is a short, tailored one- or two-page document, while a CV can mean a longer academic record. Elsewhere, "CV" is the everyday word for the same document. The checker reads both the same way: contact details, clear sections, dates and results. For US and remote roles, leave out a photo, date of birth and marital status; many applicant tracking systems and employers there expect them left off.
