Enhancv alternative: a free plan with no time limit, AI help from $7.99/mo

Enhancv is a design-led builder with a strong set of job-search tools: tailoring, translation, mock interviews, a free tracker and a Chrome extension. Ruubu covers the same preparation for each application at a lower monthly price. Here is the honest picture.

Ruubu is our product, so read this with that in mind. Every statement about Enhancv links to a public source, listed at the end of the page. We are not affiliated with Enhancv.

Is Ruubu a good Enhancv alternative?

Yes, if the monthly price matters. Enhancv Pro is $39 a month, or $16.50 a month on its 6-month plan; Ruubu's Resume Pass is $7.99/mo and its free plan does not expire after 7 days. Enhancv's free tracker, Chrome extension and design options are stronger.

Sources for each claim are numbered in the tables below.

What Enhancv offers

Enhancv sells Pro on three billing periods: $39 every month, $69 every 3 months or $99 every 6 months. Each period is charged in full at its start, so the cheaper per-month rate means paying several months up front.

The free plan is valid for 7 days. It includes all templates and design tools, but shows Enhancv branding and caps the resume at 12 section items. That is enough to try the editor, not to keep a finished resume for free.

Enhancv's tool set is wide: it tailors a resume to a job ad, translates resumes with the target country in mind, runs AI mock interviews, imports LinkedIn profiles and offers a free tracker with a Chrome extension. Its pages give two different counts of translation languages, 30 and 9.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

When Enhancv is the better choice

  • Its translation adapts to the target country, not only the language.
  • A free tracker and Chrome extension that save jobs from the big job boards and ATS sites.
  • Distinctive design options and unusual sections for people whose resume should show personality.
  • A detailed free checker with 27 checks, including seniority fit.

Why people switch to Ruubu

  • Billing you can predict

The Resume Pass starts with a 7-day free trial, and we email you before the trial ends. Ruubu bills once a month ($7.99/mo for the Resume Pass), you cancel in one click in Settings, and your first payment is refundable in full for 7 days. Enhancv's monthly plan is $39, and its monthly fees are non-refundable.

    Compare plans

  • One posting, a complete application

Paste a job link and Ruubu shows which requirements your resume already proves and which it misses. Fix them in the editor, get a tailored copy on Pro, and write the cover letter and interview prep for the same job. Enhancv tailors too; Ruubu bundles cover letters and interview prep into the cheaper Pass.

Try it with a job link

  • Check before you pay

The free checker scores your resume out of 100 on 14 fixed rules, with no account, and lists each fix. Ruubu's free plan has no 7-day limit and no section cap.

    Run the free check

  • Interview prep from your own experience

The Resume Pass builds an interview kit for the role: the questions it is likely to ask and answer outlines drawn from your bullets. Enhancv's mock interviews are a strong option if you prefer to practise out loud.

How to move from Enhancv to Ruubu

  1. 1.Export your resume from Enhancv as a PDF. After cancelling, its help center says the account becomes read-only, so you can still download.
  2. 2.Upload the file (PDF, DOCX or TXT) to Ruubu's free checker. You get a score and a fix list right away, without an account.
  3. 3.Create a free account to open the resume in the editor, pick a template and work through the fixes; the score updates as you edit.
  4. 4.Paste the link of the job you want next. Ruubu lists the requirements your resume does not show yet, so you know what to change for that posting.
  5. 5.Only pay when you want AI rewrites, cover letters, interview prep or clean downloads. Before that, check how Enhancv handles cancelling and refunds (see the table above).
