Export a clean, single-column PDF that parses in any applicant tracking system, then send it with confidence. Free, no credit card.
Why it matters
An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is the software employers use to collect, scan, and rank resumes before a recruiter sees them. Roughly 99% of Fortune 500 companies and a fast-growing share of small businesses use one. When you apply online, your resume almost always meets a machine first.
The ATS parses your resume into structured fields — name, contact, experience, skills, education — then matches it against the job description. If it can't read a section, that section effectively doesn't exist. Multi-column layouts, tables, text inside images, headers/footers, and non-standard headings are the usual culprits that quietly sink strong candidates.
Every Ruubu template is built to parse cleanly: a single column, standard section headings, real selectable text, and no graphics that confuse the parser. You write the content; we make sure the machine — and then the human — can actually read it.
Parsed
The ATS extracts your text into fields. Clean structure = clean parse.

Writing guide
A great resume is more than a template. Here's exactly what each section should say to get past the ATS and win the recruiter.
Two to three sentences naming your role, years of experience, and your single biggest, quantified win. This is the first thing a recruiter reads — make it unmistakably about the job you want.
Reverse-chronological, with 2–4 bullets per role. Open each bullet with a strong verb and close it with a number — revenue, percentage, time saved, or scale handled. Show impact, not duties.
List the exact hard skills and tools the posting names, plus the ones you'd be comfortable being interviewed on. Keep it scannable; skip soft-skill clichés that every applicant claims.
Degree, school, and graduation year — plus any certifications that map to the role. Recent grads can lead with education; experienced applicants keep it short and let experience carry the weight.
Resume tips
Lead every bullet with a result, then the action — numbers earn a second look.
Quantify wherever you honestly can: %, $, time saved, and scale beat adjectives.
Mirror the job description's exact skill and tool names so the ATS scores the overlap.
Keep it to one page under ten years of experience; cut anything that isn't an outcome.
Use a single column with standard headings — no tables, text boxes, or graphics.
Save and send as PDF unless the posting explicitly asks for DOCX.
Tailor the top third (headline, summary, first role) to the specific job.
Proofread out loud — one typo can cost you the interview.
