Frontend Developer resume summary examples

Pick the one closest to your level and replace the specifics with your own.

  • Entry level

Frontend developer with a bootcamp background and a year of experience building React and TypeScript interfaces. Shipped a responsive account dashboard used by 4,000 customers and raised its Lighthouse accessibility score from 72 to 96. Looking for a team that values code review, design collaboration and steady growth.

  • Mid level

Frontend developer with five years building customer-facing web apps in React, TypeScript and Next.js. Cut a storefront's Largest Contentful Paint from 4.1 to 2.2 seconds and led its move to a shared component library. Works closely with designers and backend engineers and writes tests that keep releases calm.

  • Senior

Senior frontend engineer with ten years building large web applications. Leads architecture for a design system used by six teams, drives performance and accessibility standards and mentors engineers through code review. Balances technical depth with product sense and has a record of shipping features that lift conversion.

Common mistakes on a frontend developer resume

  • Listing frameworks instead of shipped interfaces

Fix: React, Vue and Angular side by side look like a tutorial list. Name the product surface you built, such as a checkout flow or a design system, the traffic it served and the metric it moved.

  • Ignoring performance and Core Web Vitals

Fix: Hiring managers look for evidence you measure the browser. Include Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, bundle size or Lighthouse scores before and after your changes.

  • Leaving accessibility off the page

Fix: Accessibility is a daily expectation now. Add WCAG 2.2 AA fixes, screen reader testing, keyboard navigation or audits you ran, and say how many components or pages you brought into compliance.

  • Hiding collaboration with design and backend

Fix: Frontend work rarely stands alone. Mention working from Figma specs, agreeing API contracts with backend teams and reviewing pull requests, so readers see how you fit into a product team.

What should a frontend developer resume include?

A frontend developer resume should open with a two or three line summary of your focus, then show each role as results rather than duties. Name the skills the posting asks for, such as JavaScript, TypeScript and React. Start bullets with verbs like Built, Shipped and Optimized, and give each one a number where you honestly have one. If you hold a credential such as Meta Front-End Developer Professional Certificate, list it in its own section.

Frontend Developer resume questions

How long should a frontend developer resume be?

One page for under ten years of experience. Engineers are scanned fast, so lead each bullet with a shipped outcome and a number rather than a list of frameworks.

What metrics should a frontend developer resume include?

Core Web Vitals improvements, bundle-size reductions, page-load and render times, conversion lift, accessibility scores and test coverage. Pair each action with a measurable result.

Which keywords should a frontend resume include for an ATS?

Mirror the job post: React, TypeScript, Next.js, responsive design, REST/GraphQL, CI/CD and WCAG. Use the exact tool names rather than vague phrases like front-end technologies.

Should I include a GitHub or portfolio link on a frontend developer resume?

Yes. A live portfolio or a deployed project shows your work faster than any bullet. Choose two projects that load quickly, work on mobile and have clean code. Add one line about what each does and the stack behind it.

How do I show design skill as a frontend developer?

Mention the design systems you built or extended, Figma collaboration and details such as motion, spacing or responsive behavior. Link to a project where the interface quality is visible. Keep this to a line or two so the resume still reads as engineering.
