Cancellation guide
How to cancel a Resume.io subscription
Resume.io lets you cancel from its website without logging in, or from your account settings. Its trial renews automatically after 7 days, so the timing matters. These are the steps from its own help center.
This guide is written by Ruubu, a different resume tool. The steps come from Resume.io's own help and legal pages, linked under Sources. We are not affiliated with Resume.io and cannot cancel for you.
How do I cancel my Resume.io subscription?
Use the Cancel Subscription tab on Resume.io's contact page: look up your account by email, click cancel and confirm through the email it sends. Logged in, use Account Settings and the My Plan box. The $2.95 trial renews at $29.95 every 4 weeks after 7 days.
Before you cancel
- Download every resume and cover letter you want to keep from Resume.io first. Its help center says documents stay downloadable after a downgrade, but saving copies now costs nothing.
- Note the renewal: the 7-day trial renews at $29.95 every 4 weeks, the quarterly plan at $49.95 every 3 months.
- Have the account email ready: the logged-out route looks you up by email and sends a confirmation there.
- Do not delete the account as a way to cancel; the help center describes account deletion as permanent and separate.
What you are paying
The plans on Resume.io's own price page, so you know which renewal you are stopping.
- 7-day trial
- $2.95 for 7 days, then auto-renews at $29.95 billed every 4 weeks[1]
- Quarterly
- $49.95, auto-renews at $49.95 every 3 months[1]
- Annual
- No annual plan on the US price page[1]
- Renewal
- Both plans on the US price page auto-renew. The same page's FAQ calls the post-trial plan a monthly membership, while the plan card says every 4 weeks.[1]

From your account

- 2.Click your profile photo at the top right and open Account Settings.
- 3.Use the downgrade option in the My Plan box at the top of the page.[2]
By email
- 1.If neither route works, email support@resume.io from the account email and ask them to cancel.[2]
Refunds
Resume.io's pages give two answers. Its price page promises a no-questions-asked 7-day money-back guarantee. Its Terms of Service say no refunds are provided for subscription services and that cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid term.
The EU supplemental terms in the same document say a money-back guarantee applies to the 7-day trial, with the refund paid within 14 days of invoking it. If you want a refund, ask in writing during the first 7 days and quote the price page.[1][3]
After you cancel
The help center says premium access continues for 30 days from your last monthly payment or 7 days from your last trial payment, and that 6-month and yearly plans are downgraded to free automatically. Documents remain downloadable after the downgrade.[2]
Common situations
You are still in the 7-day trial. Cancel through the contact page or Account Settings, and in the same email ask for the 7-day money-back guarantee the price page promises.
The trial has already renewed at $29.95. Cancel now so no further 4-weekly charge follows; the help center says premium then runs for 30 days from that payment. Ask support in writing about the charge and quote the price page.
You cannot sign in. Use the logged-out route: the Cancel Subscription tab of the contact page finds the account by email and asks you to confirm from that inbox.
You are on a 6-month or yearly plan. The help center says those plans move to free automatically at the end, so there is nothing to stop; you can still cancel early to be sure.[1][2]
What to check on your bank statement
Resume.io's billing help says its charges generally appear as:
Names the company says can appear on a statement
- RESUME.IO
- Resume.io says many plans are billed in US dollars and that it cannot control your bank's conversion.
- Match the amount and the date: a charge every 4 weeks moves a little earlier each month, so it will not land on the same day as a monthly bill.
- If your card is in another currency, your bank may add a conversion fee or show a slightly different amount from the list price.
- If a charge appears after you cancelled, contact the company first and quote your cancellation confirmation; keep a copy of every reply.
- If that does not resolve it, your card issuer can explain its dispute process. Ask them before the dispute window on your card closes.
