Is Ruubu a good VisualCV alternative?

Yes, if you want to check and fix a resume before paying and need help beyond the resume itself. VisualCV Pro is $25 a month on monthly billing; Ruubu's Resume Pass is $7.99/mo with cover letters and interview prep. VisualCV is stronger for a resume website with analytics and human writers.

What VisualCV offers

VisualCV sells one paid plan, Pro, on two billing periods: $25 USD billed monthly, or $16 USD a month billed quarterly. The price page does not print the quarterly total, and no free trial of Pro is listed. Its refund policy and terms say subscriptions renew automatically for the same length until you cancel.

The free account lets you test every template and build your first resume, but its terms say a free PDF carries a watermark. Unlimited PDFs, the cover letter builder and AI writing help are Pro features, per the price page and its AI builder page.

Where VisualCV stands apart is the online side: Pro publishes your resume as a personal website with shareable links, a custom domain and analytics on views and downloads. It also sells resume writing and review by human experts inside the product.

Read the refund wording closely. The price page promises a refund if you are not satisfied within your first 30 days. The cancellation and refund policy, which its terms say governs refunds, says paid subscriptions are non-refundable and that nothing is refunded if the platform was used in that billing period.[1][2][3][4][5]

How to move from VisualCV to Ruubu

  1. 1.Download your resume from VisualCV. On Pro you can export a PDF without a watermark, or a Word file (marked beta in its help center); on the free account the PDF carries a watermark.
  2. 2.Upload the file (PDF, DOCX or TXT) to Ruubu's free checker. You get a score and a fix list right away, without an account.
  3. 3.Create a free account to open the resume in the editor, pick a template and work through the fixes; the score updates as you edit.

How much does VisualCV Pro cost?
VisualCV's price page lists Pro at $25 USD a month on monthly billing, or $16 USD a month billed quarterly. Plans renew automatically (checked October 2026).
Does VisualCV give refunds?
Its pages disagree. The price page offers a refund within your first 30 days if you are not satisfied; its refund policy says subscriptions are non-refundable once paid and nothing is refunded if you used the platform. Ask in writing and keep the reply.
Can I download a resume from VisualCV for free?
You can create and preview one resume for free, but its terms say a free PDF carries a watermark. Ruubu's free plan also marks the PDF, with a small Ruubu mark, and lets you keep editing without a time limit.
Does Ruubu publish a resume website like VisualCV?
No. Ruubu has no personal resume website or view analytics. If a shareable online resume matters most, VisualCV Pro is the better fit.
How do I cancel VisualCV?
Its help center says: account settings, the Subscription Info box, Downgrade Account, then complete the steps and click Confirm Cancelation. Its policy says email requests need not be processed, so use the account settings.
