ResumeBuilder.com alternative: tailoring for each job, billed by the month
ResumeBuilder.com is a free-to-start builder from the Bold group with a low-cost trial, a free cover letter generator and interview practice on paid plans. Ruubu prepares each application for its posting, with a free check first. Here is a fair comparison.
Ruubu is our product, so read this with that in mind. Every statement about ResumeBuilder.com links to a public source, listed at the end of the page. We are not affiliated with ResumeBuilder.com.
Is Ruubu a good ResumeBuilder.com alternative?
Yes, if you want each resume matched to a job posting and a calendar-month price. ResumeBuilder.com's $1.95 trial renews at $25.95 every four weeks; Ruubu's Resume Pass is $7.99/mo. ResumeBuilder.com's free cover letter generator, annual plan and phone support are its strengths.
Sources for each claim are numbered in the tables below.
What ResumeBuilder.com offers
On its price page, 14-day access costs $1.95 and then auto-renews at $25.95 billed every four weeks. Annual access is $71.40 paid up front, which it shows as $5.95 a month, and renews each year. Its home page still prints older, different prices, so check the price page before you pay.
The builder and the cover letter generator are free, with unlimited downloads in plain text (TXT). PDF and Word downloads, the ResumeCheck review, job matching and interview practice are paid. Its terms are an agreement with BOLD LLC, the company behind Zety, LiveCareer and Resume Now.
Two of its pages differ on what happens after you cancel. The price page FAQ says you lose access to the dashboard and your documents unless you download them first; the terms say registered users can still view and edit, but not download, without a subscription. Download before you cancel either way.[1][2][3]
