FlowCV alternative: when you need more than one free resume

FlowCV has one of the most usable free resume plans we found: no watermark, unlimited PDF downloads and every template. Ruubu adds what FlowCV keeps for Pro or does not list: a free check, a job-link match, interview prep and translation. Here is when each makes sense.

Ruubu is our product, so read this with that in mind. Every statement about FlowCV links to a public source, listed at the end of the page. We are not affiliated with FlowCV.

Is Ruubu a good FlowCV alternative?

For one free resume, FlowCV is hard to beat: no watermark and unlimited PDFs. Ruubu fits when you apply to several jobs and want a free check, a match score from each job link, and on the Resume Pass ($7.99/mo) cover letters, interview prep and translation. FlowCV's yearly Pro ($60) is cheaper over a year.

Sources for each claim are numbered in the tables below.

What FlowCV offers

FlowCV's free plan includes one resume and one cover letter with no watermark or branding, unlimited PDF downloads, every template and design option, and three content imports. AI tools are on Pro only.

Pro costs $60 billed yearly; the price page also mentions shorter periods, which we have not listed because their prices were not shown in the page text. Pro renews automatically unless you cancel in account settings, and FlowCV offers a full refund within the first 14 days.

Pro adds AI writing, instant translation and a kanban job tracker. A job requirements matcher is marked as coming soon on its AI page, and we found no resume check, interview prep or browser extension.[1][2][3][4]

When FlowCV is the better choice

  • The most usable free resume we checked: no watermark, unlimited PDF downloads and every template.
  • A low yearly Pro price ($60), with a student discount.
  • Full design control even on the free plan, with a matching cover letter.
  • A 14-day refund on Pro.

Why people switch to Ruubu

  • Check before you pay

The free checker scores your resume out of 100 on 14 fixed rules, with no account, and lists each fix. FlowCV exports text-based PDFs but lists no checker.

    Run the free check

  • One posting, a complete application

Paste a job link and Ruubu shows which requirements your resume already proves and which it misses. Fix them in the editor, get a tailored copy on Pro, and write the cover letter and interview prep for the same job. FlowCV marks its job requirements matcher as coming soon.

Try it with a job link

  • Interview prep from your own experience

The Resume Pass builds an interview kit for the role: the questions it is likely to ask and answer outlines drawn from your bullets. FlowCV lists no interview prep.

    See interview prep

  • More than one resume on the free plan

Ruubu's free plan keeps several resumes, so you can hold one per type of role. The PDF carries a small Ruubu mark; the Resume Pass removes it. FlowCV's free PDF has no mark at all.

How to move from FlowCV to Ruubu

  1. 1.Download your resume from FlowCV as a PDF (free and unlimited).
  2. 2.Upload the file (PDF, DOCX or TXT) to Ruubu's free checker. You get a score and a fix list right away, without an account.
  3. 3.Create a free account to open the resume in the editor, pick a template and work through the fixes; the score updates as you edit.
  4. 4.Paste the link of the job you want next. Ruubu lists the requirements your resume does not show yet, so you know what to change for that posting.
  5. 5.Only pay when you want AI rewrites, cover letters, interview prep or clean downloads. Before that, check how FlowCV handles cancelling and refunds (see the table above).

Questions

Is FlowCV really free?
Its free plan includes one resume and one cover letter with no watermark, unlimited PDF downloads and every template. AI tools need Pro.
How much is FlowCV Pro?
$60 billed yearly on its price page, with a 25% student discount; shorter periods are mentioned on the page, see their pricing page for those prices (checked October 2026).
Is Ruubu's free PDF watermarked?
It has a small Ruubu mark. The Resume Pass gives a clean PDF and an editable DOCX. If an unmarked free PDF is what you need, FlowCV is the better free option.
Can FlowCV tailor my resume to a job?

Can I get a refund from FlowCV?
Yes, its price page offers a full refund within the first 14 days of a Pro purchase. Ruubu refunds a first payment within 7 days.
