Marketing Coordinator resume example

A marketing coordinator is the person who gets campaigns out the door on time: briefs, asset trafficking, email builds, event kits, and a budget tracked against real invoices. The manager reading your resume wants volume and accuracy. Show how many launches you kept on the calendar, which platforms you built in yourself, and the late assets or send errors you cut.

Marketing Coordinator resume summary examples

Pick the one closest to your level and replace the specifics with your own.

  • Entry level

Marketing graduate with two internships coordinating social calendars, email sends and campus event promotion. Built 30 Mailchimp campaigns with A/B subject line tests, scheduled 400 posts across Instagram and LinkedIn, and kept a shared launch checklist for a team of five. Google Analytics and HubSpot Inbound certified, comfortable in Canva, and quick to learn a new project tool.

  • Mid level

Marketing coordinator with four years running the campaign calendar for a regional retailer, moving 25 to 35 launches a quarter from brief to live. Builds and QA tests emails in HubSpot, traffics assets to agencies and print vendors, and reconciles a quarterly program budget against invoices. Cut late creative handoffs by half after introducing fixed intake deadlines.

  • Senior

Senior marketing coordinator who runs marketing operations for a B2B manufacturer: the annual campaign calendar, trade show program, vendor contracts and a program budget tracked monthly. Coordinates work across sales, product and two agencies, trains new coordinators, and keeps 12 trade shows a year on schedule. Ready to step into a marketing manager or marketing operations role.

Common mistakes on a marketing coordinator resume

  • Writing "assisted with campaigns" for everything

Fix: Assisted hides what you owned. Pick the piece that was yours: the email build, the launch checklist, the print order, the webinar registration page. Then add volume and timing, such as "built and tested 48 promotional emails in HubSpot, all sent on the scheduled date." Managers hiring coordinators want to know which tasks they can hand you on day one.

  • Leaving the calendar and vendor work off the page

Fix: Coordination is the job, so show it. Name the shared calendar or project tool you ran, how many campaigns or assets moved through it each month, and the vendors you managed, such as printers, promo suppliers or photographers. A line about cutting rush print fees by ordering on a fixed schedule tells a manager more than a list of software.

  • Saying nothing about quality control

Fix: Broken links, wrong prices and missing UTM tags cost a team money and trust. If you proofed assets, checked links on every send, kept a UTM naming sheet or caught errors before launch, put it in a bullet with a count. Accuracy is the quiet skill that gets coordinators promoted, and few applicants mention it.

  • Hiding budget and invoice tracking

Fix: Many coordinators track spend against the plan, request purchase orders and match invoices. That work is rarely glamorous, but managers trust a coordinator who can do it. Write the size of the budget you tracked, how often you reported on it, and any overage you flagged early. Keep the figure plain and avoid claiming you set the budget if you did not.

What should a marketing coordinator resume include?

A marketing coordinator resume should open with a two or three line summary of your focus, then show each role as results rather than duties. Name the skills the posting asks for, such as Campaign Calendar, Creative Briefs and Launch Checklists. Start bullets with verbs like Coordinated, Scheduled and Built, and give each one a number where you honestly have one. If you hold a credential such as Google Ads Search Certification, list it in its own section.

How to stand out as a marketing coordinator applicant

Tailor every application to the posting: the resume, the cover letter and the answers you prepare for the interview.

  • Match the coordinator flavor in each posting

Coordinator postings lean different ways: events and trade shows, email and automation, social scheduling, or retail promotions. Find the two duties listed first and move your matching bullets to the top of each role. Use the posting's tool names where you have actually used them, and keep the rest of your experience shorter so the match is obvious. Tailor your resume to the posting

  • Use the cover letter to show you can run a calendar

Open with one launch or event you coordinated from start to finish, with its size and the date it went live. Then say which tools and vendors you can take over right away. Close by naming a recent campaign from the company and one thing you noticed about how it ran. Keep it to three short paragraphs. Write a marketing coordinator cover letter

  • Prepare for a prioritization question

Coordinator interviews often include a scenario: three urgent requests, one designer, a launch tomorrow. Practice walking through how you would sort them, who you would tell, and what you would push. Bring a short example of a checklist or calendar you built. Expect a quick skills check in Excel, a CMS or an email tool. Practice coordinator interview questions

  • Plan the step up to manager

If you want a manager title next, start collecting proof now: a small budget you owned, a campaign you planned rather than executed, results you reported to leadership. Compare your bullets with a marketing manager example to see which ownership words and metrics you still need, and add the ones that are true for you. See the marketing manager example

Marketing Coordinator resume questions

Is marketing coordinator an entry-level job?

Often it is the first or second job in a marketing career, but the bar varies. Some postings take new graduates with internships, while others ask for one to three years and named tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Read the requirements line by line and lead with the experience that matches, even if it came from an internship or a campus job.

How do I make internships and student projects count?

Treat them like jobs. Give the organization, your dates and two bullets each with something you produced and a number: emails sent, posts scheduled, flyers printed, attendees registered. A semester running social accounts for a campus club is real coordination work if you describe the calendar, approvals and results. Drop coursework once you have a full year of paid marketing experience.

Are free certifications from Google and HubSpot worth listing?

They are worth a line in a certifications section, especially early on. They show you have used the platform vocabulary a team works in every day. They will not replace a bullet that proves you built something. Pair each one with a related task in experience, such as a Google Ads Search certification next to a bullet about uploading ad copy and checking UTM tags.

What separates a coordinator resume from a marketing specialist resume?

A specialist owns one channel and its results, such as paid search or SEO. A coordinator runs the operating layer across channels: the calendar, approvals, vendors, files and budget tracking. Your resume should read as reliable execution at volume. If a posting is really a channel role with a coordinator title, shift your bullets toward that channel's metrics.

Should I include design work I did in Canva?

Yes, if the posting mentions creating social graphics, sell sheets or event signage. Say what you made and for whom, for example "designed 40 event signs and table cards in Canva from brand templates." Do not call yourself a graphic designer unless you are applying for that work, and mention brand guideline compliance so the reader knows you work within a system.
