Huntr alternative: deeper help with each application from $7.99/mo

Huntr is a job-search board first: tracking, a Chrome job clipper, free autofill and mobile apps, with AI resume tools on Pro. Ruubu focuses on the documents and preparation for each application, at a lower monthly price. Here is how to choose.

Ruubu is our product, so read this with that in mind. Every statement about Huntr links to a public source, listed at the end of the page. We are not affiliated with Huntr.

Is Ruubu a good Huntr alternative?

Yes, if you need help with the resume, letter and interview more than with tracking. Huntr Pro costs $40 a month; Ruubu's Resume Pass is $7.99/mo and includes cover letters and interview prep. Huntr's free tracker for 100 jobs, unlimited autofill and mobile apps are better for organising volume.

Sources for each claim are numbered in the tables below.

What Huntr offers

Huntr's free plan tracks up to 100 jobs and includes unlimited base resumes, two job-tailored resumes, PDF export, every template, the Chrome job clipper and unlimited autofills. Pro removes the limits for $40 a month, $90 every 3 months or $160 every 6 months. There is no free trial.

Huntr's refund policy is strict: a refund is only possible after at least two billing periods, within three days of the latest charge, never after 14 days, and it may be refused when the account shows high use.

Cancelling is simple: Plan & Usage in your account settings. Pro stays active to the end of the period and the account then returns to free without losing data.[1][2]

When Huntr is the better choice

  • A full job-search board: jobs, contacts, interviews and metrics in one place.
  • Unlimited autofills and a Chrome job clipper on the free plan.
  • Mobile apps that save jobs to the board with one tap.
  • Cancelling keeps your data; the account just returns to free.

Why people switch to Ruubu

  • Billing you can predict

The Resume Pass starts with a 7-day free trial, and we email you before the trial ends. Ruubu bills once a month ($7.99/mo for the Resume Pass), you cancel in one click in Settings, and your first payment is refundable in full for 7 days. Huntr refunds only after two billing periods; Ruubu refunds a first payment.

    Compare plans

  • Interview prep from your own experience

The Resume Pass builds an interview kit for the role: the questions it is likely to ask and answer outlines drawn from your bullets. Huntr's interview question generator is on Pro.

How to move from Huntr to Ruubu

  1. 1.Export your resume from Huntr as a PDF (free on every plan).
  2. 2.Upload the file (PDF, DOCX or TXT) to Ruubu's free checker. You get a score and a fix list right away, without an account.
  3. 3.Create a free account to open the resume in the editor, pick a template and work through the fixes; the score updates as you edit.
  4. 4.Paste the link of the job you want next. Ruubu lists the requirements your resume does not show yet, so you know what to change for that posting.
  5. 5.Only pay when you want AI rewrites, cover letters, interview prep or clean downloads. Before that, check how Huntr handles cancelling and refunds (see the table above).

Questions

How much does Huntr Pro cost?
Huntr's price page lists Pro at $40 a month, $90 every 3 months or $160 every 6 months, with no free trial (checked October 2026).
Can I get a refund from Huntr?
Only in narrow cases: after at least two billing periods, within three days of the latest charge, and not when the account shows high engagement, per its refund policy.
Is Huntr's free plan enough?
For tracking, often yes: up to 100 jobs, unlimited autofill and PDF export. AI tailoring is limited to two resumes and cover letters are on Pro.
Does Ruubu have autofill or a job clipper?
No. Ruubu has no browser extension and does not fill in applications. Use Huntr's free clipper for that and Ruubu for the documents if you want both.
Which is cheaper for a three-month search?
Three months of Ruubu's Resume Pass cost three times $7.99/mo; Huntr Pro costs $90 for three months. Ruubu's Pro ($19.99/mo) is the closer match to Huntr Pro's unlimited tailoring.
