Cancellation guide
How to cancel a Jobscan subscription
Jobscan bills every month or every 3 months until you cancel, and its quarterly plan starts with a free trial that turns into a charge. Its policy says confirming the cancellation is your responsibility, so here are its own steps and rules.
This guide is written by Ruubu, a different resume tool. The steps come from Jobscan's own help and legal pages, linked under Sources. We are not affiliated with Jobscan and cannot cancel for you.
How do I cancel my Jobscan subscription?
Open your Jobscan Account Details page and, if you paid by card, click Cancel Plan at the bottom and follow the prompts; otherwise email support@jobscan.co. Your account moves to the free plan when the billing period ends. Refunds need a request within 2 calendar days, if unused, minus a 3.5% fee.
Before you cancel
- Download every resume and cover letter you want to keep from Jobscan first. Save any resume you built in its resume builder and note the scan results you want to keep.
- Check your billing date: the monthly plan is $49.95 every month, the quarterly plan $89.95 every 3 months.
- If you want a refund, move fast: the policy only allows requests within 2 calendar days of a billing period.
- Keep the confirmation: Jobscan's policy says it is the customer's responsibility to confirm the cancellation.
Cancel from Account Details
Cancel during the free trial
- 1.Cancel from Account Details the same way before the trial ends.
- 2.You will not be charged, and the account moves to the free plan at the end of the trial.[4]
If you do not see the button
- 1.Email support@jobscan.co from the account email and ask them to cancel the plan.[2]
Refunds
Jobscan's cancellation and refund policy only grants refunds to Premium members who ask within 2 calendar days of a billing period and have not used the service in it, and charges a fee of 3.5% of the original payment.
To ask, email support@jobscan.co with the subject line Refund Request, your reason and the email address of your Jobscan account.
Its help center says every subscription charge is processed in US dollars, so the amount in your own currency can differ slightly from the list price.[3][6]
Common situations
You are in the 7-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you will not be charged. If you forget, the help center says you may be charged.
You see a small charge after signing up for the trial. Its help center describes a temporary $1 authorization hold, usually released within 24 hours and on some banks within 7 to 10 business days.
The plan renewed yesterday. Cancel, then email a refund request at once: the window is 2 calendar days and only applies if you have not used the service since.
You do not see a Cancel Plan button. The help center says the button appears for card payments; email support for anything else.[4][8][9][3][2]
What to check on your bank statement
- Charges are processed in US dollars, so look for a dollar amount converted by your bank.
- A temporary $1 authorization hold can appear when you start the free trial; it is not the subscription charge.
- Match the amount and the date: a charge every 4 weeks moves a little earlier each month, so it will not land on the same day as a monthly bill.
- If your card is in another currency, your bank may add a conversion fee or show a slightly different amount from the list price.
- If a charge appears after you cancelled, contact the company first and quote your cancellation confirmation; keep a copy of every reply.
- If that does not resolve it, your card issuer can explain its dispute process. Ask them before the dispute window on your card closes.
